Retakes of my mistakes are included at no cost.
 

Revisions (changes made to the script after recording):

• Minor Revisions (one or two words): $50

• Major Revisions (more than two words): $100 minimum

• Re-Reads (30% or more of the original script): Original rate

Performance Retakes:

• Undirected sessions (recorded in my studio under my own direction)

I happily provide one round of Performance Retakes at no cost if you need any lines re-read for performance reasons. Please communicate any and all direction and/or change of direction at this time. After the first round of retakes, subsequent rounds are charged as Revisions, listed above.

• Directed sessions (recorded in my studio under your virtual direction)

Though not common, you may need or want an additional directed session for retakes or pickups after a completed direction session. This may be the case if the client changes their mind on direction/style, there are revisions/additions to the script that you want to direct, there are timing changes, etc. Additional directed sessions requested within 30 days are billed at the original rate unless otherwise agreed upon.

Pronunciation Retakes:

Retakes required for pronunciation preferences that are not specified with a pronunciation guide or otherwise in writing prior to recording will be treated as Revisions and are billable. Examples: “nee-ther” vs. “nigh-ther,” “day-tah” vs. “dah-tah,” “oh” vs. “zero.”

Pronunciations of unique names and terms that are not widely known or quickly and easily researched must be specified or explained prior to recording. These include proper nouns, first and last names, brand names, acronyms, industry-specific jargon, and technical/scientific terms. Please alert me to any unique names or industry-specific terms, so we can assure correct pronunciation is addressed upfront.

 

If these kinds of pronunciations are not specified prior to recording, retakes are treated as Revisions and are billable.

 

Submitting Changes:

When sending a change request, please highlight the lines in the original script or provide the full sentence to be re-recorded, along with the immediately preceding and subsequent sentences for context. If applicable, please include the relevant time stamp of the video or audio so I can better match tone and pace. Please submit all your changes at once.

Timeframe for Change Requests:

Please submit all change requests within 30 days of receiving the original voice over files. After 30 days, any and all change requests will be treated as a new project and charged current rates.

New and international clients will be billed upfront unless otherwise agreed upon.
